We are immensely pleased to announce yet another exciting venture from Kalabhavan London:
This event is a platform to showcase Indian artistic talents in the UK and Europe, similar to Britain's Got Talent in the UK and India's Got Talent in India. This talent hunt will feature Indian music, dance, and other performing arts. We are planning to showcase this in different parts of the UK, with the first event to be held on Saturday, 13th July, at Campion Academy Hall, Hornchurch, London RM11 3BX, from 2pm tp 9pm. In this inaugural event, we are organizing an all-UK Indian Beauty Pageant for the Miss, Mrs., and Mr. India categories of Great Britain.
The beauty contest is split into three categories: - Miss India Great Britain - Mr. India Great Britain - Mrs. India Great Britain Title winners and several subtitle winners will be selected from each category. Winners will receive cash awards, participation certificates, and numerous attractive prizes. This event is filled with other performance like , music, dance etc..

Classical Music Indian classical music is both elaborate and expressive, originating from the Vedas. It divides its octave into 12 semitones, with the 7 basic notes in ascending order: 'Sa Ri Ga Ma Pa Da Ni Sa'. Monophonic in nature, it centers around a single melody line played over a fixed drone. Performances are based on specific Ragas and rhythmically on Thalas. Kalabhavan offers high-quality training in classical music under skilled teachers.
Light Music Light music is a style of "light" orchestral music that emerged in 19th-century Britain. It is a less "serious" form of Western classical music, featuring shorter orchestral pieces and suites designed to appeal to a broader audience. Often referred to as mood or concert music, light music is sometimes grouped with the easy listening genre and is commonly used as film, radio, and television themes. Kalabhavan provides excellent training in light music under expert instructors.
Bharatanatyam Bharatanatyam is a classical dance form from Tamil Nadu. It evolved from the art of temple dancers known as Devadasis. Named after Bharatha Muni, who authored the Natya Shastra, this dance style incorporates many of his ideas. Today, it is one of the most popular and widely performed dance styles globally, practiced by both male and female dancers.
Mohiniyattam Originating in the 16th century, Mohiniyattam is a classical dance form from Kerala. Recognized as one of the 8 classical dance forms by the Sangeet Natak Akademi, it is characterized by its graceful and sensuous body movements. Performed solo by women, the term "Mohiniyattam" means "dance of the enchantress," derived from "Mohini" (a woman who enchants) and "aattam" (graceful movements).
Kuchipudi Kuchipudi is a classical dance form from Andhra Pradesh, popular throughout South India. Described in the Natya Shastra by Bharata Muni about 3000 years ago, Kuchipudi is typically accompanied by Carnatic music, featuring instruments like mridangam, violin, flute, and tambura.
Folk Dance Folk dance is simple and vibrant, performed solo, in groups, or mixed groups of men and women. It bursts with energy and vitality, featuring flamboyant costumes and extensive jewelry.
Thiruvathira Thiruvathira is a traditional dance form from Kerala, performed by women around a lamp, symbolizing the eternal love of Goddess Parvati for Lord Shiva. Kalabhavan provides training in this graceful dance form.
Acting Kalabhavan offers comprehensive acting courses that cover various aspects of performance, helping students develop their skills for stage and screen.
Kalaripayattu Kalaripayattu is an ancient Indian martial art from Kerala, known for its combative techniques, physical fitness, and mental discipline. Kalabhavan offers training in Kalaripayattu, emphasizing its traditional and contemporary applications.
Zumba Zumba is a fitness program that combines Latin and international music with dance moves. Kalabhavan's Zumba classes provide a fun and effective workout for all fitness levels.
Mimicry Mimicry is the art of imitating sounds, voices, and mannerisms. Kalabhavan has a significant influence in the Malayalam mimicry world, with many former students achieving fame through films, stage shows, and TV programs.
Nadanpattu Nadanpattu, or folk songs, reflect the essence of folk life and culture. Typically passed down orally, these songs are an integral part of social life. Malayalam boasts a rich tradition of folk songs, and Kalabhavan offers training in this vibrant musical form.
Western Vocal Western vocal music originated from American folk music, characterized by originality, dissonant harmonies, complex rhythms, and the use of synthetic and electronic sounds. Kalabhavan provides training in Western vocal music, focusing on contemporary styles and techniques.
Yoga (2-Month Course) Yoga encompasses physical, mental, and spiritual practices from ancient India aimed at achieving permanent peace. Studies show yoga's effectiveness in improving muscular-skeletal and mental health, among other benefits. Kalabhavan offers a comprehensive 2-month yoga course to enhance well-being.

Aaravam 2023 In a memorable event held on October 7, 2023, at the Beckton Community School Hall in London, around 250 graceful Malayali women captivated the audience with their performances at the "Aaravam 2023" All UK Thiruvathira Competition, organized by Kalabhavan London. The competition saw 21 teams from various parts of the UK showcasing their talents in a spirited and competitive atmosphere. The performances were so exceptional that the judges faced a tough time deciding the winners, with multiple teams vying closely for the top spots. The competition began at 2 PM and concluded with the following winners:
- First Place: Team Thanimai from Northampton (Chest Number 103), awarded £1,000 and a trophy.
- Second Place: Team Jwala KCWA from Croydon (Chest Number 118), awarded £500 and a trophy.
- Third Place: Team Guruprabha from Sri Narayana Guru Mission, East Ham (Chest Number 109), awarded £250 and a trophy. Alongside the competition, various cultural programs including classical, semi-classical, and Bollywood dance performances were showcased, celebrating the rich cultural heritage of Kerala. The cultural show, "Ente Keralam," was particularly noteworthy.
- The event was generously sponsored by Paul John & Co Solicitors, NN Civil Engineering Ltd, Global Study Link UK, Malabar Gold and Diamonds, Neel Travel and Tour Ltd, Online Business, and Navaruchi Restaurant, East Ham. The esteemed panel of judges included Deepa Nair, Meera Mahesh, and Rashmi Prakash. Special guests who graced the event with their presence and delivered congratulatory messages included Newham Council Chair Rohina Rahman, Councillors Lakmini Shah, Susan Masters, Musibur Rahman, and Iman Haque, along with former Newham Civic Ambassador Dr. Omana Gangadharan.
- The prizes were distributed by the chief guest, Cambridge Deputy Mayor Baiju Thittala. The team members of Kalabhavan London successfully led the "Aaravam 2023" event, making it an unforgettable celebration of culture and talent.
"We Shall Overcome" (WSO) was a Facebook Live initiative organized by Kalabhavan London, UK, beginning in March 2020. This campaign engaged and encouraged people during the challenging times of the pandemic and lockdown, helping alleviate some of their worries through the soothing effects of live music, dance, interactive sessions, and mental well-being talks.
Renowned singers and dancers were part of the WSO initiative, delivering live performances regularly on the WSO Facebook page via our streaming platform, earning numerous accolades along the way.
Thousands of viewers from around the world, especially NRIs in the UK, USA, Australia, UAE, and India, regularly tuned in to our live performances. Through the We Shall Overcome initiative, we also provided financial support to struggling artists from Kerala during these difficult times.
We successfully conducted over 150 live sessions, with hundreds of viewers joining online at any given time.
